Opening of the common building of Jõhvi Police and Rescue Board
25.05.2014On 23 May 2012 was the grand opening of a new internal security institution´s common building of Jõhvi Police and Rescue Board. Opening band was cut through by the Minister of the Interior Ken-Marti Vaher.
The new building is housing several national security and investigative agencies
- Police and Border Guard Board’s Eastern prefecture, Rescue Service, Estonian Security Police Eastern department and Citizenship and Migration Bureau. Gross area of the building is 9 649,6 m2.The new building also houses the Emergency Response Centre’s and Police and Boarder Guard Board control centre’s first common working area, where 112 and 110 emergency calls are processed.
According to Prefect of the East Prefecture Aldis Alus the new building has perfect working conditions and is worthy of the people working there. In the design process all the characteristics of the police and rescue work were carefully considered and the aim was to create the best working conditions without excessive compromise.
As the lead designer Amhold performed the following services: architecture, interior design, furnishing, landscaping design, structural engineering, HVAC and cooling systems, electrical engineering, security systems, control engineering, sprinkler systems, clean agent fire extinguishing systems, greenery, bills of quantities, traffic and parking schemes. Amhold also conducted engineering technical and environmental surveys and author’s supervision during the construction period.
The project manager of the design was Olavi Ottas, structural engineer Joel Lipson and full design of the architectural and interior design was performed by architect Jane Pärnamaa.
The Contracting Authority was State Real Estate Ltd. The total cost of the construction was nearly 5 million Euros.
